Cycas revoluta, commonly known as sago palm, is one of the oldest cultivated ornamental plants, often called a "living fossil." Although it resembles a miniature palm, it belongs to the cycad group, plants with a history of over 200 million years. It has a striking architectural form, with stiff, feather-like, dark green leaves that grow in a rosette from a thick, woody trunk. It is a very decorative plant, suitable for both bright interiors and gardens or terraces in large pots.

🌿 Botanical characteristics:

  • Full name: Cycas revoluta

  • Common names: Sago palm, Japanese cycas

  • Family: Cycadaceae

  • Origin: Japan, Ryukyu Islands

  • Growth type: Perennial, shrubby plant with a woody trunk and feathered foliage

  • Leaves: Stiff, glossy, feather-like, dark green, grouped in a rosette

  • Flowers: Dioecious (separate male and female plants), with large cones, rarely appearing in indoor cultivation

🌞 Growing conditions:

  • Light: Prefers full sun or strong indirect light; tolerates partial shade

  • Soil: Well-drained, slightly sandy, with added organic matter

  • Watering: Moderate; allow the soil to dry partially between waterings

  • Minimum temperature tolerance: down to –8°C for short periods, but in Romania it is recommended to overwinter indoors in a protected place

  • Care: Slow growth; rare repotting, as roots are sensitive

Advantages and uses:

  • Architectural plant with great decorative impact

  • Exotic appearance, similar to palms but much more compact

  • Hardy and long-lived, can live for decades in a pot or garden

  • Suitable for spacious interiors, terraces, winter gardens, and exotic gardens

Disclaimer: The leaves of Cycas revoluta are stiff and sensitive to handling. Some leaves may show small imperfections (spots, dry tips, or tears) during transport or when changing environment. These do not affect the plant’s vitality, which periodically renews its crown by producing a new "flush" of leaves.

Height with pot included approx. 30 cm

Flavor Name: Herb Medley, Size: 1.1 Ounce (Count of 6)
$34.48 for 6 packs 1ounce each! That’s exorbitant for what it is. Not worth it!

Way too “lekker” tasty
Being from South Africa I’m skeptical on US made dried meat products - BUT these are the real thing. Difficult not to eat the entire pack in one session. Major discipline required to put it down. Great products.

Very satisfied!
Heard about Biltong from one of the youtubers I watch, and wanted to try it. This is delicious, much more so than your regular beef jerky. I have tried other brands, but this one is by far my favorite for the flavor and texture.

Quality biltong
Biltong is the beef jerky i grew up eating… so nothing else really compares. These people do a bang up job. Expensive but worth it as a treat or a gift for someone who likes quality jerky without all the extra preservatives.

Arrived opened/tampered
My pack arrived late AND was already opened. Considering this is food, I'm not sure if this is even safe to eat. A real shame since I was really looking forward to having some good biltong.
